How to Request Records
To request court case records, call or visit the Grayson County Judicial Center directly. Online payments for fines and fees can be submitted through ePay. The Circuit Court Clerk's office accepts cash, check, and money order for in-person transactions. When requesting copies, have the case number, the names of the parties, and the case type ready. Are Court Records Public in Grayson County?

Requests for case records must go to the clerk of the court that handled the case, not to the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). The AOC does not hold case records and cannot provide access to them. Grayson County Criminal Court Records
Criminal cases in Grayson County move through one of two courts depending on the severity of the offense. Felony charges and serious misdemeanors are adjudicated in the Circuit Court, while lower-level misdemeanors, traffic violations, and preliminary hearings for felony cases are processed in the District Court. Both courts are located at the Grayson County Judicial Center, 500 Carroll Gibson Boulevard, Leitchfield, KY 42754.
Searching Criminal Records Online
The KYeCourts system provides online access to basic criminal case information. If you need a more detailed criminal record report—covering misdemeanor and traffic cases for the past five years and felonies back to 1978—the AOC Background Check (FastCheck) portal lets anyone request criminal record reports on any individual, since criminal records are public information in Kentucky. FastCheck accepts credit and debit card payments, with a processing fee of 2.25% of the transaction amount or $2.50, whichever is greater. Keep in mind that FastCheck reports do not include juvenile cases, mental health cases, or domestic violence cases, as those are confidential by law.
Arrest Records and the Sheriff's Office
Criminal court records reflect charges filed in court and what happened afterward—they don't capture all arrest-related information. The Grayson County Sheriff's Office no longer provides local records checks directly. For arrest history searches, the Sheriff's Office refers requesters to the Administrative Office of the Courts at (800) 928-6381 or kycourts.gov. Grayson County Civil Court Records

Clerk Office Procedures
When requesting civil records, have the full names of the parties, the case type, and an approximate filing date or case number ready—this helps staff locate the record quickly. Copy fees apply, and the clerk's office accepts cash, check, and money order. Payment for fines and fees tied to active cases can also be submitted through the ePay online system.

Grayson County Family Court Records
Family Court in Kentucky operates as a division of Circuit Court, built around a "One Family, One Judge, One Court" model that keeps all family-related proceedings before the same judge. Domestic Violence Records
Domestic violence case records are confidential and are not included in public criminal record reports. Access to these records is restricted by court rule and statute.
Divorce Records
Divorces finalized after June 1958 are also indexed with the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics. You can request certified copies of those divorce records using the Marriage/Divorce Application form through that office. For divorces that took place before June 1958, only the Grayson County Circuit Court Clerk can provide access to those records.
Marriage Records
Marriage records are maintained by the Grayson County Clerk's Office at 125 East Market Street, Leitchfield, KY 42754. The Recording Department can be reached at (270) 259-5295. These records are public. Certified copies may be requested in person during office hours—Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., and the 2nd Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.—or by mail. Mail requests should include the full names of both spouses at the time of marriage, the date of marriage, a check or money order for the applicable fee, and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Marriages after June 1958 can also be ordered through the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics. Pre-June 1958 marriages are only available through the County Clerk's Office.
Birth and Death Records
Vital records relevant to family proceedings are managed by the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics. Under KRS 213.131, birth records are restricted—only the named individual (if 18 or older), parents, legal guardians, or those with a court order may obtain a certified copy. Birth records are available from 1911 forward; earlier records require a search of local archives. Death records are similarly restricted under KRS 213.131 for 50 years from the date of death, after which they become public. Certified copies of both birth and death certificates are obtainable from the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics.
Grayson County Probate Court Records
Probate matters in Grayson County—including wills, estates, and guardianship proceedings—are handled by the Circuit Court, with records maintained by the Grayson County Circuit Court Clerk. When a person dies, the probate process formally transfers their property to heirs or beneficiaries, either following a valid will or, if no will exists, according to Kentucky's intestate succession laws. Guardianship cases, which involve appointing a legally responsible party for a minor or incapacitated adult, also fall under the Circuit Court's probate jurisdiction.

Older Probate Records
Probate records more than 15 years old may have been transferred to the State Records Center or the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. In those cases, the clerk's office will give you the case and file locator numbers you'll need to submit a retrieval request. Records at the State Records Center cannot be searched by name or Social Security number alone—locator numbers are required. Mail-in requests for archived records should go to state.records@ky.gov using the state records request form, or you can call (502) 564-3617.
